The Hukou suona in Jixian County is a folk drum music with a long history and rich connotation. It has both royal charm and loess customs. Historical data show that during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, Shi Bao, an important minister of the court who loved drum music, was banished to Ji County, and enriched the original Qupai of Ji County to make the wind and percussion music of Ji County its own system, which has a history of more than 480 years. Relevant departments in Ji County have organized suona performing arts activities for many times to revive and rescue this folk music project that is on the verge of being lost. In 2008, Jixian Hukou suona was listed as an intangible heritage protection project in Shanxi Province.
