Hukou Waterfall is the world's largest yellow waterfall, located in the Shanxi-Shaanxi gorge, along the southern part of the main stream of the Yellow River, between Jixian County in Shanxi Province and Yichuan County in Shaanxi Province. It is 38 kilometers east of Jixian County and 40 kilometers west of Yichuan County. Covering an area of 116 square kilometers, it centers around Hukou Waterfall and integrates the surrounding natural and cultural landscapes, including the Yellow River Canyon and the Loess Plateau of northwest China.It has developed into a tourist destination known for its magnificent scenery and rich cultural heritage.

Beautiful Landscape
The Yellow River flows through this area, where its width suddenly narrows from 300 meters to just over 50 meters, plunging straight down into a stone groove more than 30 meters deep, resembling water pouring into a giant pot, which is how it got the name "Hukou." The Hukou Waterfall features towering waves, a thunderous roar, and crashing cascades, creating natural wonders such as "Mist Rising from the Water," "Rainbow Arching Over the Sky," "Dragons Playing in the Waves," and "Thunder in the Valley." The surrounding area also boasts other natural and cultural landscapes, including "Ten-Li Dragon Trough," "Mengmen Night Moon," "Yu Cap Peak," and "Ancient Ferry."
