Released on May 21st, China News Yan 'an (Liu Dawei). “Media Professionals from Taiwan and Mainland of All-China Federation Of Taiwan Compatriots Planned to Visit Shaanxi Province in 2021”. They visited Hukou Waterfall on 21st, which was at the junction of Yan’an, Shaanxi Province, and Linfen, Shanxi Province. They could experience “The Yellow River goes into Hukou’s embrace”.
Hukou Waterfall is the second largest waterfall in China. The Yellow River flows from the upper reaches to this point, with towering cliffs at both sides. The estuary narrows to seem like the spout of a pot, which gives the waterfalls a name. The upstream of the waterfall is 300 m wide, which is compressed to 20 m to 30 m wide after it flows within 500 m. The rushing river pours down from the steep cliffs more than 20 m high. Turbulent currents are just like thousands of soldiers and horses, roaring and rushing forward, for which the thunder-like noises are made, till pouring down to the bottom. The mist of river, caused by splashed currents, wears a veil for the banks of the Yellow River.
It was the first time for most of the visiting delegation to see the Hukou Waterfall in their eyes, and they were deeply impressed by the spectacular sight.
“The Yellow River and the Yangtze River were mentioned in our textbooks when I was young, but I didn't have the chance to see them with my own eyes when I was a student. When I came to Hukou Waterfall and saw the Yellow River directly, all my previous imaginations about the Yellow River came back to me.” said Yan Guan, who is in charge of “Taiwan Good News” in Sichuan and Chongqing. He told reporters that he now lived in Yibin, Chongqing, where is next to the Yangtze River, and after he himself saw the Yellow River, he realized his dreams hidden in his mind.
"Taiwan Uncle On the Road”, a We Media from Taiwan, said that this was his first visit to Hukou Waterfall after he came to mainland over 20 years, and he was deeply shocked by the spectacular scene here after experiencing it on his own. He said that the Yellow River is the mother river of the Chinese nation. When he saw the river surging forward with great momentum, he felt that this should be the spirit that the Chinese people should have.
The event was hosted by All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots. More than ten media from both sides and a number of We Media visited Tongchuan and Yan 'an within one week to have an in-depth understanding of the local traditional culture, local customs and the development and changes in recent years.
