More than 2,000 years ago, the water level of the Yellow River was hundreds of meters high and the Dragon King was living where the East and West Dragon King Mountain is located. As Dayu cut through the Dragon Gate Mountain, the Dragon King had nowhere to hide so he drilled underground with all his might and finally carved out this waterfall, which is dozens of meters long, and the Dragon Trough, which is thousands of meters long. The Dragon King spat out the water and the people suffered. The Jade Emperor first sent Erlang Shen with nine generals down to conquer the Dragon King. The nine generals were killed by the Dragon King. The Jade Emperor was enraged and threw a teapot on his table when he learned that, and the Dragon King was received at the bottom of the teapot and placed under the waterfall. This is the origin of the "Hukou Waterfall".
