Yellow River Banquet

Ji County is located in the middle reaches of the Yellow River. According to legend, when Dayu controlled flood, the Yellow River flooded. A magical turtle appeared in the Shili Dragon Trough at Hukou. It carried a "Luo Book" to dedicate to Dayu, so Dayu could control the flood successfully. Dayu held a feast with water as main material, thereby forming the "Yellow River Banquet" with soup to nourish people and prolong life. The banquet has a plain appearance, but it tastes delicious. Its materials take from water, land, mountains and rivers, with the local characteristics of equally assorted meat and vegetables and brackish palatability. Its every dish is inseparable from soup. This soup is the main melody of the Yellow River Banquet. Sometimes it is light and soothing, sometimes it becomes more refreshing, and sometimes it will be delicate and sweet... there is a prelude, a climax, a ending, and a lingering aftertaste at the end. As the ingredients in the plate change, this soup will always strive to extract the most original flavor. For thousands of years, merchants and common people have always made it their first choice whenever they encounter weddings and funerals. It shows sincerity in hospitality and a frugal fashion.
